That being said, the unique vantage point of the Painted Desert and the proximity of this national park to Route 66 make it a worthwhile destination for those visiting the Southwest.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-de9108b elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"de9108b\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-fa3df0c\" data-id=\"fa3df0c\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-41276cc6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"41276cc6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our family\u2019s last official stop on our <\/span>Summer 2020 RV Road Trip<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona. After spending the night at the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/koa.com\/campgrounds\/holbrook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Holbrook \/ Petrified Forest KOA<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Holbrook, Arizona, which we would highly recommend, we woke up early to tackle the park before it got too hot. Beware that summer temperatures can be sweltering in Petrified Forest.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As our family arrived in the parking lot of the visitor center early that morning, a park ranger immediately came over to us as we were exiting our RV, saying, &#8220;Ummm, I think there is something wrong with your bikes on the back?&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Running to the back of the RV, we came across a busted bike rack, thankfully held together by an intricate rope rigging that we had executed in Dallas, and three busted bikes. That day, we did three notable hikes &#8211; Big Logs, Blue Mesa, and the Rim Trail.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Along our drive through the park, we also enjoyed many amazing stops, the most notable of which were Pintado Point (one of the best views in the park), the Newspaper rock petroglyphs (650 petroglyphs on display), the Puerco Pueblo Ruin (native preserves), Agate Bridge (a bridge made of petrified logs), and Jasper Forest at the end (a scattered petrified forest). It was hot, but not as brutal as we had expected. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<div href=\"https:\/\/meteorcrater.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Meteor Crater National Landmark<\/strong><\/a> in Winslow, Arizona to see the site of the World&#8217;s best preserved Meteor impact site. famous &#8220;Delgadillo&#8217;s Snow Cap&#8221; in Seligman, Arizona, a Historic District notable for the Historic Route 66.
