For those seeking solitude, and the chance to wander among giant peaks, beautiful blue lakes, and ever-changing glaciers, this park has much to offer.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-4e07b023 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"4e07b023\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-27ecdce4\" data-id=\"27ecdce4\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6c73b10d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6c73b10d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following our time in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/gagnonsgone.com\/uncategorized\/vancouver-british-columbia-with-kids\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Vancouver<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on our <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/gagnonsgone.com\/our-routes\/our-first-summer-on-the-road\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Summer 2019 Road Trip<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, our family decided to take a detour to visit North Cascades National Park, in Northern Washington. It was on our original itinerary, nixed later on, and then added back in as we got closer to it on our adventure. After securing a spot in Nehalem for the night at the campground inside the park, we decided upon a late afternoon walk along the Skagit River called the River Loop. At that point, we headed to the trailhead for our morning hike &#8211; Thunder\u2019s Knob Trail. It was pretty hot by the time we got out there, and a few of the kids (who shall remain nameless) struggled at first until we got into our groove. We had some great views of Diablo Lake at the top of the trail, and then made our way down. It was a gorgeous hike, and we would recommend it as a great way to see the glacial lakes that this park is known for, especially with children in
